Peter Turo is an Astoria-based playwright, teacher, and occasional actor. His plays include All Fall Down (The Tank), Up and Down (TCTC Rep), Always Be Ready (MITF), The Novelist, The Bradfords (original music by Blake Pfeil), and Salt, which had a staged reading at the Barrow Group Theater as a finalist in Wide Eyed Productions Winks series last fall. He is a contributing writer for Project Theatres Our Bar series and a committee member for The Young Professionals of The Actors Fund. As an actor, he was most recently seen as Patsy in Spamalot at Yorktown Stage despite his inability to whistle or tap dance. He is an Aquarius and enjoys long walks to the fridge.

Salt

Synopsis:
Megans had a long day: flying back from Europe, fighting with her something-corporate boyfriend, running into an ex at a bar, and now shes waiting for the R train much later than she ever wanted to. Then a stranger at the station offers her conversation and some pistachios. . .

The Samuel French staff would like to congratulate the 30 playwrights selected to participate in the 40th Annual Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival! Chosen from nearly fifteen-hundred submissions (a record breaking number) both in the U.S. and abroad, these 30 plays will be presented in New York from August 3  9, 2015.
