Mfoniso is a 1st Generation Nigerian-American storyteller, actress and educator. Mfoniso attended Wellesley College for Political Science and obtained her MFA in Acting from San Francisco's Tony Award winning, American Conservatory Theater. During her stay in the Bay, she co-pioneered a youth initiative, The Nia Project, which provided artistic outlets for youth residing in Bayview/Huntspoint. Mfoniso's play, Sojourners, which was recently seen at the 2014 NNPN conference as part of the National New Play Showcase will be produced off-Broadway by Playwrights Realm. In Fall 2015, Mfoniso will travel to Whidbey Island to attend Hedgebrook's rural retreat for women writers. In Fall 2016 two of Mfoniso's plays, Sojourners and runboyrun, will debut as part of Magic Theatre's 2015-16 season. Mfoniso's plays have been developed and/or presented/produced by Playwrights Realm, The Magic Theatre, The National Black Theater, Sundance Theatre Lab, Space on Ryder Farm, NNPN New Play Showcase, Makehouse, Soul Productions, terraNOVA, Page73 Development Programs, The New Black Fest, Rising Circle's INKTank, At Hand Theatre Company, The Standard Collective, Liberation Theatre Company and JJCEO Youth Programs in Birmingham, Alabama. Mfoniso was a finalist for the 2015 PoNY Prize and she's been a finalist for the Eugene O'Neill NPC, Bay Area Playwrights Festival, Many Voices Fellowship, Page 73 Development Programs, Jerome Fellowship, NYTW's 20/50 Fellowship, The Source Festival & Lark Playwrights' Week.

Synopsis:

Synopsis:
Married couple, Disciple and Abasiama Ufot, have been living the exact same day over and over again for many decades. A sudden burst of frustration breaks their pattern and time suddenly rushes forward while also reeling backwards; forcing Disciple and Abasiama to finally navigate the treacherous waters of illness, memory and love. Abasiama came to America with high hopes - for her arranged marriage and her future - intent on earning a degree and returning to Nigeria. But when her husband is seduced by America, she must choose between the Nigerian or American Dream.

Five Children & It

Synopsis:
When exploring the land around their new country house, Cyril, Anthea, Robert, Jane and 'the Lamb' come across a magical and extremely grumpy Psammead, or 'sand-fairy'. He promises to grant them any wish, but the children soon discover that simple wishes aren't always so straightforward. Forsaken

Synopsis:
Fovant abbey has fallen into disrepair, forcing the nuns to sell it to the highest bidder - and quickly. the calm and collected Sister Mary has been given the responsibility of organising the sale, but what she hasn't counted on is attracting the attentions of her gay estate agent. as Mary begins to question her faith, dark secrets are revealed and it becomes apparent that she is as powerless to prevent the changes that are going on around her, as others are to protect themselves from the consequences of their actions.

Synopsis:
Nothing could prepare Fancy Day for the small village of Mellstock. Young, beautiful and educated she soon catches the eye of the honest, hard working Dick Dewy who is struck by love at first sight. But all is not simple for Fancy when she receives offers from Reverend Maybold who can show her the world and Farmer Shiner who can offer wealth and stability.
