John Upton has been a professional dramatist for 27 years. An accomplished writer of both drama and comedy, John has written extensively for television, stage and film. He won an AWGIE for Best New Play in 1985 for his play Machiavelli, Machiavelli. His other plays include The Warhorse and Men of Honour (about William Shakespeare). He has written for more than 20 Australian TV shows, including Blue Heelers, Rafferty's Rules, Palace of Dreams and Neighbours.
