Hannah Jane Walker is a poet from Cambridge and Essex. She studied literature at the University of East Anglia and poetry at Newcastle University. She has performed all over the UK and abroad, most recently Australia and Germany. She has started to make Theatre, namely off a stage. the second show, a collaboration with Chris Thorpe called 'the Oh Fuck Moment' was awarded a Fringe First 2011. She also works as an Arts project manager, having worked in the education team at the Norfolk & Norwich Festival and currently working for live literature development organisation Apples and Snakes, runs writing workshops in schools and community groups and programmes poetry events.

It's a show in which the audience commit to leaving their phones on. A show investigating what it means to participate in communication or not. there are poems, there are stories and there is conversation. I Wish I Was Lonely sees Hannah Jane Walker and Chris Thorpe ask how much of ourselves we've given up to the new gods in our pockets.

In this unique, Fringe First winning theatrical experience, poet Hannah Jane Walker and Chris Thorpe explore the universally-known feeling that dawns when a huge mistake has been made. Set around an office table - the scene of so many oh fuck moments, audiences are invited to share their own mortifying slip-ups as Chris and Hannah examine the poetic guts of mistakes in a bundle of words and strip lighting. An oh fuck moment is the truest, funniest, most terrifying of feelings. Sometimes, mistakes are so great that there is no way back. But they also help us learn and appreciate what it means to feel human.
