Sophie Walsh-Harrington is an international writer (nominee - BBC Radio Four Alfred Bradley Award), director ('Blackbird' David Harrower, York) singer and performer who has had main roles in a variety of Theatre productions (Paige/ 'Roleplay', Mrs Prentice/'What the Butler Saw', Hesther/'Equus'), in the UK, Paris and Melbourne. She has a Masters in Theatre: Writing, Acting and Directing from the University of York, UK. In 2009 she devised and acted in the critically acclaimed 'Dr Faustus' (Written by Jamie Wilkes, Belt Up) with Zig-Zag Creations at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2009. In 2011 worked with Tom Dickins and Jennifer Kingwell from the Award winning the Jane Austen Argument (Best Cabaret Adelaide Fringe 2010) to produce a one-woman comedy - theatrical noir-cabaret, 'the Damsel in Shining Armour'. the show debuted at the treasured La Mama Theatre, Melbourne where it enjoyed a sell-out season. It then went on to enjoy sell-out shows at Melbourne's premier cabaret venue, the Butterfly Club and then to Adelaide Fringe 2011 where it won the prestigious Best Cabaret Award. It then made return seasons at La Mama for the Melbourne Comedy Festival and the Butterfly Club. In August Damsel made its debut on British soil, for a massively successful month at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
