Conquest of Everest, The
Synopsis:
Dr Peter Thompson organises climbing expeditions, but is struggling to keep his business solvent. His wife Anita, an ex art-house movie star, wants him to retire. They are joined by Tom Scudder, an egotistical Hollywood film producer who's trying to lure Anita back into films. Mountaineering expertise comes from Charlotte Edgeworthy, a teenage extreme-sports fanatic, and part time model, who thinks Scudder might help her into a movie career, and Chris Dodds, a cheerful Australian, big and empty as the country he comes from, who's hopelessly devoted to Charlotte. When they make their attempt on Everest, a storm erupts. The tensions within the group, and the motives that brought them together, are exposed to the altitude.
