Comedy, Irony, Satire And Other Deeper Meanings
Synopsis:
written in 1822, first real surrealist play as regarded by Breton, story reflects it's writers disquiet with the state of play in German- young alcoholic scholar is in charge of a particularly thick child, he decides to the mentally deficient child off as a genius and does so with startlingly rewards, however the proceedings are clouded over by his unrequited love of a fair young maiden, both events are scandalous and provocative. Grabbe glanced against a window into the twentieth century and has strangely been neglected as one of it's great writers!
