John lives in Poynton, Cheshire and developed an interest in Theatre after joining an amateur Dramatic society, where experience was gained in acting, set construction, scene painting and back stage work before he started writing. After attending writers' group at the Dance House Theatre, Manchester and Oldham Coliseum, John developed contacts across the Theatre world in Manchester and his first play, 'A Gladiator in the House' was performed at Salford Arts Theatre in July 2011. Since then, a strong association has been developed with the Theatre, with other examples of John's work performed at the Contact Theatre and Studio Salford. Other projects have included two novels, both of which are thrillers, and several short stories. Current projects include 'the Demons', about a game of Chess played in Hell.
