Literary Agent:    represented by Linda Bull at Louis Lipman Asc

"I am an actress, writer, theatre-maker, comedian, anthropologist, and activist. I have been acting professionally since I was in my late teens (having trained as a dancer and performed in musicals as a child), and have worked primarily in theatre, including in the West End and multiple Shakespearean roles. I write feature screenplays, short films, and plays (and maybe books one day), and also run the all-female Little but Fierce Theatre Company, which presents a mix of classical theatre (especially Shakespeare) and new writing. I hold BA and MSc degrees in anthropology, specialising in gender and mental health, and am pursuing a PhD in neuro-anthropology."

Tortoise

Synopsis:
Tortoise features three very different women (a young 'wild child' with OCD, a seriously ill 30-something who has spent most of her life in hospital, and an elderly aristocrat) living in a locked NHS psychiatric ward. The play covers their struggles and the bonds they form as they come to terms with why they are there and seek freedom. This dark comedy uses humour to deal with serious contemporary issues of gender and mental health treatment.

Notes:
Commissioned by the New Wolsey Theatre in Ipswich, it transferred to the Cockpit Theatre in London before its West End debut at the Criterion Theatre.
