12
Synopsis:
Trevor is 12 years old. But he's almost 13. He loves Megan. She's not 11 anymore. And his best friend is a giant mouse& called Mousey. 12 is a coming of age story about first loves and the confusing, terrifying, exhilarating nature of first sexual experiences. It's a world of blue light discos, wishing you could dance, 15 year old boys who think they know everything about girls and what they want, and 15 year old girls with minds full of tormenting lies. Using the greek myth of Orpheus in the Underworld, 12 is a fusing of myth and suburban banality. We watch as Trevor is thrust into his own version of the underworld, populated by a terrifying creature known as the Hairman, where he has to come face to face with his fears and kill the thing he loves the most in order to grow up. His innocence. 12 is a play which remembers what it was like to be 12.

Cinderella
Synopsis:
This Cinderella is not about princes and princesses. It's about a single woman in her early 40s trying to go on a date, and a single guy who has an unreasonable fear of not being heard over loud music in bars. There may not be any ugly sisters, but there's the occasional mysterious animal. There's midnight. There's a shoe. There's dancing. And there's beautiful transformation.

Old Man
Daniel wakes up. Something is missing. The phone is not working, and the kids' toys are not in their usual spot under the television. In fact, his wife and children seem to have disappeared. Old Man is Matt Whittet's extraordinary play about fathers and sons, love and loss, kindness and Newtown. It is a beautiful and shockingly simple tale in two parts, which asks if it is possible to wake up one day and make good-enough better.

School Dance
Synopsis:
Nerds were heroes in 1980s pop culture films, and in this new work by Windmill theatre (the Wizard of Oz, Clockwork Forest), they reign supreme once again. A sell-out at the 2012 Adelaide Festival, School Dance mashes together BMX heroics, Smurfs and power ballads to create some gloriously goofy and for those with long memories achingly real comedy. Set in the special kind of hell that is the school dance, it follows three awkward teens on their hormone-fuelled quest for social acceptability.

Seventeen
It's the night of the last day of school. And it's over. Finally over! Tom, Mike, Edwina, Sure and Ronny are 17 and they're seriously celebrating. Teetering of the cusp of adulthood, this is the night they say goodbye to adolescence and begin the journey of the rest of their lives. For each of them it's a phoenix moment - exhilarating and sad, scorching and beautiful. Truths are revealed, passions unveiled, relationships are created and fall apart. Everything is changing. Tonight they drink, they dance, they shout and they love. Matthew Whittet's beautiful new play Seventeen is a finely observant, optimistic work about the strains of youth, about transformation and, ultimately, letting go.

Silver
Synopsis:
A girl wakes one morning. A morning just like any other. And as she shovels down her breakfast she looks out the kitchen window, out to the east, to where the sun has just risen, to the forest that lies just beyond her back fence. And for a moment she sees something. A boy. A young man. Her mother snaps her from her day dream, telling her to go find your father, and tell him his breakfast is getting cold!. She heads outside into the brisk cold morning to discover her Father at the front gate in the distance, talking to someone& a person& who looks like a goat, but has the face of a man. Using the Grimm's fairy tale of the handless maiden as a starting point, and told in four parts, Silver tells the strange and beautiful tale of a young girl as she goes in search of stillness lost.
