Synopsis:
the German journalist Sebastian Haffner came to England in 1938, at the age of 30. He wasn't Jewish and he wasn't a political activist; he just couldn't bear the Nazis. After his death in 1999 a memoir of his early life was discovered and published, to great acclaim, as Defying Hitler.
