Casey Economy (Casey Wimpee), born 18 Dec 1980, is a Brooklyn-based fiction writer and playwright from Dallas, Texas, and co-founder of the Aztec Economy. His plays include Lavaman (Ice Factory 2009, Ohio Theatre, NYC), National Diet of Japan (P.S. 122, NYC), Pontiac Firebird Variations (Ice Factory 2011, Ohio Interrupted @ 3LD, NYC) the Battleplays Trilogy (the Brick / Monkeytown, NY), Adventures in the OK Skin Trade (the Fridge, DC), and Arms & the Octopus (Ohio / Galapagos, NY), for which he was nominated for a New York Innovative Theatre award. Bring Me the Head of John Ford

Synopsis:
Part psychological western, part solo performance art, part Noh movement piece, part Greek mystery play. Josh Fid is a video store clerk with a dark past in a sleepy west Texas town. On the surface a quirky and slightly withdrawn young man, the true nature of this emerging sociopath can only be perceived in the confines of his trailer, in which he devotes all of his waking hours to watching westerns and nurturing an increasingly turbulent dexedrine addiction. A mono-maniacal relationship develops between Josh and a classic spaghetti western into which he soon projects all of his innermost desires and memories. But as the film keeps playing and Josh spirals ever more out of control, it becomes progressively more difficult to distinguish not only the boundary between good and evil, but between film and fan and, ultimately, actor and audience.

The story of four workers trapped in a mine in the coal fields of West Virginia, 1973. A pusher, a driller, an engineer, a deputy pit boss, and the crew's foreman are trapped when an unexpected explosion rockets through the mine. With their foreman unconscious, the remaining miners are forced to deal with the life-and-death choices of survival- as well as the turbulent history of small-town secrets which connect them to each other. Blending Aesop's fables, Loretta Lynn fandom, chain gang field hollers, the dissociative effects of ketamine use, and the complicated world of slope coal mining (with its dialects, hierarchies, unionization struggles, and history of disasters), Butcher Holler Here We Come is a journey into the darkness of the human psyche and its ruthless social order.

A layered narrative follows Maria, a dancer with dreams of crossing the border as she encounters an undercover narcotics agent, a coyote, an on-call' travelling dentist, the ghost of a legendary cartel member, and the documentary of a pinata artist. An experimental theatrical production using live music, live video, and live performers, Color Tvs En Tijuana dynamically blends Mexican Catholic ritualism, Ancient Aztec mythology, and Warner Bros. Looney Tunes to establish an immersive live performance which examines the soul's quest across the border between two nations: the state of madness and the state of grace.

Synopsis:
Kill Devil Hills is a live, immersive performance which creates a psychic space to re-imagine the dawn of flying machines. Wilbur is the doubt-ridden, emotionally stunted, one-mechanical-armed, maniacally hard-driven visionary with suicidal tendencies & a nightmare quest (a la Conrad's 'Heart of Darkness') to capture Icarus' wings and whose success will ultimately be subverted by an Ahab-like legal war against his enemies for creative ownership of their flying machines. Orville is his hard-drinking, fast-scheming, reckless younger brother whose absolute commitment to war against the earth takes him to the brink of paralysis and death. With their pantomime, suit-covered sidekick mute engineer / crash-test-dummy, Cannonball and their stern, proper school-teacher sister, Kate, the brother's rum vessel becomes a place where war is waged, and ambition and dreams are weighed, and imagination meets death in a hallucinatory mindscape of human achievement and destruction.

Synopsis:
3 siblings share a squalid garage space with no car on the Black Sea Coast circa 1987: Penka is an aspiring dancer who spends all her nights watching a pirated floppy disk of 'From Russia With Love', while dreaming of bombs in New Mexico; Little Boy is a programming wizard suffering from retrograde amnesia who's writing a highly-infectious computer virus called 007; Fat Man is a paralyzed commissar of the Bulgarian People's Party who is addicted to radioactive jelly and wants to bury himself in ever-deepening layers of the Communist Dream State. But when a stranger arrives, their reality is infected and infinite reversals ensue.
