People in My Hips

Synopsis:
the People in My Hips documents the amazing true story of Ken Wolf's three year battle with severe Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Split-Personality which manifested while he was enrolled in Yoga Teacher Training five years ago. Narrated and performed by Wolf, who filmed himself for over three years, the People in My Hips is interspersed with real video footage of his often bizarre somatic physical reactions (his body often being thrown around the room), actual psychotherapy, and at-home sessions where he communicates with his other personality, and personal video diary clips. From breakdown to breakthrough, Ken recounts and relives this inspirational story, with passion, curiousity and humor. While training in Yoga, as he stretched and relaxed his hip flexors, Ken started to remember experiences from his early childhood, unbelievably dark things he had long since forgotten, tucked away deep in his unconscious, and as he delved further into these memories to understand the mystery of his past, the memories soon took over his body and his life. Developing a condition which he and his therapist diagnosed as Conversion Reaction coupled with severe Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Ken sought multiple physical and psychotherapies coupled with intensive one-on-one Yoga Training in his attempt to cure himself. This play explores his journey as he manifests a split personality in his left hip dubbed 'Baby Ken' who then leads Ken on a quest to discover an unknown childhood abuser and to heal himself, all chronicled with amazing real life video clips of his experience
