Synopsis:
Gladys Bentley was known as the "Brown Bomber of Sophisticated Songs" and had a huge following. Performing from the 1920s to the 1940s. She appeared on stage in top hat and tails and "homophiled" popular songs of the day. She appeared in front of the House Un-American Committee and told to recant her same sex marriage or be labelled a deviant.
