Playwright, actor and theatre researcher, Luis Mario Moncada has written and adapted nearly thirty plays, almost all of which have been produced; some of them have been translated into English, French and German, and received several national awards. As a researcher, he has written a detailed study of twentieth-century Mexican theatre, as well as numerous articles for professional journals. He has been head of the Centre for Theatre Research, Rodolfo Usigli (CITRU) and of the Hellenic Cultural Centre of Mexico,among others. He has received many awards, including the National Award for Young Talent in 1985 and the Ruiz de Alarcón Prize in 2012 for his career asan author.
